Ecological Supply L.L.C. specializes in the construction of quality wooden funnel traps used for snake trapping studies.   We sell and rent these traps to herpetological researchers, environmental consultants and anyone else who needs them.  We currently have one standard model but we will custom construct any design necessary.  These configurations include double and single funnel models and variations in size to correspond with the target snake species.  These traps are typically used in conjunction with drift fences and pitfall traps.  Double ended funnel traps used in conjunction with drift fences are one of the most effective snake trapping methods.  

Other funnel traps on the market are constructed of wire mesh,  this mesh can abrade the snake’s skin and cause injury.  These traps also do not provide protection from excessive sun exposure which prevents the snakes from self regulating their body temperature while waiting to be retrieved from the funnel traps.  Our wooden funnel traps afford both protection from the sun and predators while in the traps.
